FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER
From Meadowlane Audio Books
Can you pass the news to the children in the house
"You've got mail"
Please read to those who like to be read to.
Hey there young friends:
We thought we'd send you a newsletter - not in your mailbox, but in this INBOX. We hope you're finding the MeadowLane website lots of fun. If you haven't come up the lane lately, there might be something new for you at http://stores.livingwordsmann.com
Are you doing something special for Valentine's Day? If you haven't planned anything yet, maybe you'd like to send Sharon and Donna an email. February is a special month for relationships. We can remember our friends with cards or kind words, even nice thoughts.
Each month MeadowLane is going to have a Roving Reporter, who knows what these real animals, whimsical creatures or lovable kids are up to, here on the farm. This month Stormy's going to talk to you.
Sharon has written a Valentine’s Poem for you
To a parent or care-giver in your house: Some of you have asked how our venture is progressing. As most of you will know, the seeds were sown for this project around Donna's kitchen table in August, 2009. The gentle rain of inspiration, love of children and desire to find a way to seamlessly join one with the other initiated the concept of MeadowLane Children's Audio Books & Stories. Roots and sprouts began to take shape.
Website Launch: Flesherton's Stop 'n Shop provided a great place on November 28th,09 for our website launch. Donna valiantly attempted to have the website active from that time forth, however it was well into December before the site could facilitate the download action, and stabilize the payment process with PayPal. She admits, "It's been a difficult learning curve."
Thank you: We've had a lot of interest from family and friends for which we are thankful. Some folks have left some interesting messages in the Guest Book. We are grateful to the various local newspapers who have contributed to spreading the news that the website is now accessible and waiting to serve, entertain and inform the young and the young-at-heart.
Tell us your story: We hope the stories will provide a pleasant and fun experience. And we truly welcome responses to the story characters and setting. Bev Hopwood of Durham accepted this challenge in her story, "The Party" where unbeknown to Donna, the animals and creatures stepped from the story lines and yes, had a party on Donna's birthday. Bev's story will soon be available as a free option on The Playground page.
And next month: Herbie the Goldfish is going to tell you all about his adventures through the cold winter months in the garden pond.
MeadowLane Audio is unique in the Internet world. Our short stories are written about real animals, whimsical creatures and loveable kids who enjoy living on a farm. Check out the photographs for hints about each story. All the characters learn something important in every adventure. At the end, we have provided a Food for Thought message that encourages children to think and respond creatively.
Until next time
Donna Mann & Sharon Sinclair
